Oh Chrismakah

Dreidel dreidel dreidel I made you out of clay
and when you're dry and ready my dreidel I shall play.

Today is day one of Hannukah, which I sort of celebrate, next week is Christmas which I also sort of celebrate. I would say at this point in my life I am a full on Chrismakah observer. Chrismakah is the best of both worlds, I get the dreidels and latkes, the tree and the presents, what's not to love?

So here's to Chrismakah, to Christians and Jews coming together in the spirit of family and giving and making one great big superholiday of fantastical goodness.

Hey Blogger,

Long time no see. A lot has happened since last we spoke. Some good some bad some sad.
What was going on last time I talked to you? I think I had just started my new job. Well after almost six months I guess I can't say its new anymore. It's going well, of course there are always things I could complain about, but you are certainly not the outlet for thoses sorts of topics.

Actually that's kind of the reason I stopped talking to you all together. I can't really be honest on here, people's feelings might get hurt. I've read blogs that are completely honest and I have to say it's not always the most enjoyable reading. I think sometimes people ignore the line between private journal and online blog. I mean, I'm as nosey as the next guy, and I've picked up my sister's journal on occasion but there are some people's private thoughts that I'd rather stay oblivous to. Ignorance is bliss and all that.

Well, I just wanted to say hello, let you know I'm still around. Maybe we should try and get together more often. I used to see you everyday. Ahhhh memories.

Really Big Hands is on hiatus until further notice.

I know I haven't posted in a really long time, but I find it hard to even look at a computer after working all day. I really didn't think this day would ever come considering I used to be logged into MSN messenger 24 hours a day and checking the screen for new messages most of those 24. I was a junky and now I haven't been on an instant messaging program in months. I guess I'm in recovery. I must be at least 4 months clean by now.

Anyway, the new job is going well. I'm still in the learning process but the office environment is good and I really like my boss. She told me today that I sealed the deal in my interview when I asked her a question she couldn't answer. Good thing I'm so clever.

Alright, that's enough computer time for one night.

I had my last day of work yesterday. Paul said it seems like I haven't fully realized that I start a new job on Monday and I'd have to say I agree. I think it will probably take a couple weeks of working there for it fully settle in (or at the very least a couple days of the commute).


My last day of work was nice. The company had already scheduled a bbq for the day so they decided to pretend it was a bbq in my honor. What says farewell like a bbq held in the shipping area? I am one lucky lady. So lucky in fact that one of the 75 year old shippers asked me for a hug and the other one asked me to kiss his bald head. Okay, maybe not quite so lucky.

Anyways, I'm looking forward to the new job (minus the commute and the heels), and I will miss the old one if the new one turns out to be horribly awful.
